ContentFilm does a run with skiing documentary "STEEP"

Mark Obenhaus directed the documentary about big mountain skiing, and it was filmed in locations including Alaska, Wyoming, Canada, France and Iceland.
The featured skiiers include Ingrid Backstrom, Chris Davenport, Doug Coombs, Shane McConkey, Andrew McLean, Seth Morrison, Eric Pehota, Glen Plake, Anselme Baud and Stefano deBenedetti.
Sony Pictures Classics has North American rights and is planning a US theatrical run in December.
Obenhaus previously directed The Kennedy Assassination: Beyond Conspiracy and Einstein On The Beach: The Changing Image Of Opera.
Steep world premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and also played in Telluride. ContentFilm will screen for buyers at the forthcoming AFM.
Producers are Jordan Kronick and Gabrielle Tenenbaum. High Ground Productions produced in association with The Documentary Group. Executive Producers are J. Stuart Horsfall, Mark Obenhaus and Tom Yellin.
ContentFilm president Jamie Carmichael said: "As a passionate skier, and being familiar with ordinary skiing movies, I was completely blown away by the spectacular, death defying skiing in Steep. Not to mention the personalities themselves. This is a completely different take on the genre."
