A woman's entire family is killed in a hit and run car accident in which she is the lone survivor. Thanks to an eyewitness, the driver of the other car is quickly found. He is a teacher at the local high school, married with a small daughter and a teenage son. After he is put on trial - but not convicted through lack of evidence - the woman vows revenge and develops a strange relationship with the son of the accused man.
